Welcome to Culinary gallivants

Hi!

We’re Michi & Sarah, two longtime publicists, lifelong food lovers, and very enthusiastic travel companions, Michi born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and Sarah happily rooted in the south of France. We bonded over a shared belief (and a bottle of wine) that the best way to understand a place (and each other) is around a table, with good food, great wine, and plenty of laughter.

After decades of designing press trips and behind-the-scenes experiences for journalists, and quietly collecting our own favorite hidden gems along the way, we decided it was time to stop gatekeeping. Culinary Gallivants was born so we could share the places, people, and flavors we love most with travelers who value curiosity, connection, and a really good meal.

Our journeys started close to home in the Pacific Northwest and southern France, and have since expanded to include Puglia, Italy, with Japan and Scotland coming soon. No matter the destination, our trips are always small, thoughtfully curated, and rooted in relationships, including the farmers who welcome us into their fields, the winemakers who open their cellars, and the chefs who pull up an extra chair.

Whether you’re foraging for mushrooms in a mossy Washington forest, slurping oysters along the Sète canal, or rolling pasta in a sunlit kitchen in Puglia, our goal is simple: to create experiences that feel warm, joyful, and genuinely human. The kind of trips where strangers become friends, meals turn into memories, and you leave already plotting your next gallivant.
